Alex Oakley (born August 12, 1973) is a first assistant director. He was born in Westminster, London, England. He began his career in the film industry in the late 1990s, with early roles such as floor runner on The Revengers' Comedies (1998), and gradually advanced through the assistant directing ranks. Throughout the 2000s, Oakley became a prolific assistant director with credits on major films. He worked as third assistant director on About a Boy (2002), second second assistant director on Love Actually (2003), and second assistant director on Hotel Rwanda (2004).
